1. How secure is my take away removal unit?

Your take away removal unit is fully secure and is completely wind and waterproof.
It is constructed from galvanised steel and, in addition to the metal frame, other security features include a heavy duty combination lock (that you choose the code to) and an alarm system that is connected to your mobile phone or landline so that if there is a disturbance the alarm phones you direct.

2. How do I fill my take away removal unit?

Your take away removal unit comes complete with 25 heavy duty storage bins to help you pack your belongings safely and securely as well as fill your unit more efficiently. The unit also features plenty of hooks, straps and tie-down points to help you secure more of your things in just the right place.

3. What size is my take away removal unit?

Your take away removal unit is approximately 16ft long, 8ft wide and 9ft high with over 1000 cubic feet of available space. Generally, a unit will hold the belongings from a 3 bedroom home. Sofas and other large items will easily fit in the unit.

4. How much can I put in my take away removal unit?

Your take away removal unit will hold up to 2.3 tonnes. If you load your take away removal unit with typical household belongings, you will not exceed this weight.

5. How safe will my items be during transit?

Our unique, patented, hydraulic lifting system ensures your take away unit is level at all times when it is being raised or lowered to the ground. As the unit stays horizontal and does not swing about, the risk of movement inside the unit is minimised. No other system in the UK can offer you this level of stability.

6. What about insurance?

Your possessions are fully covered during transportation and storage at our site. You must however have your own insurance for when the items are being stored on your property. This will normally be covered by your own home insurance policy but you should check with your policy provider for clarification.

7. How long can I keep my take away removal unit for?

For as long as you require it. The standard contract is for 7 days being 4 days before your move, the day you move and 2 days afterwards. Extra days are simply charged at a daily rate so you can have the unit for as long as you like. The choice is yours.

8. Where will you place my take away removal unit?

For convenience, safety and security, we recommend placing your take away removal unit on your driveway whenever possible. Placement on the street is another option depending on the location.

9. Can I use my take away removal unit for storage if the house I am moving to is not ready?

Yes. If you want to use the unit just for storage then your take away removal unit can be stored at one of our local storage sites and delivered to your new home when you are ready. The storage fees will be the equivalent of renting a similar sized storage room.

10. What if I just want storage and am not moving house?

No problem - your take away removal unit can be used as a mobile self storage room and stored safely at one of our sites. This way you do not have to hire a van and unload your goods into a room at the site. The same applies when you want your goods back - we simply bring them to you in the unit.

11. What if I need access to my possessions whilst they are in storage?

You can access your take away removal unit at your local site during normal opening hours. 24 hours notice may be required and there is no additional charge for this service.

12. Do I have to be there when my take away unit is dropped off?

We recommend that someone be present whenever possible however we can drop off your unit without your presence. You are responsible for ensuring that there is adequate clearance and accessibility for the desired location of the unit.
